Inside the back cover of Joyous Times, there is a note written in pencil. It’s hard to explain how I felt when I first discovered it. My heart rate jumped, and I felt like I had just won the lottery! I felt a little woozy, and thought maybe I was dreaming.
I think that the girl who wrote the note was like me, maybe a little eccentric, probably loved her family history, and maybe even sentimental, as I am. I wonder what became of her?
I found this book in 1937 –so ——– I kept it. I have enjoyed it very much. Thanks (you can spell it thanx) for this book.
Daughter of Marguerite Roach daughter of C. H. Roach son of “Grandpa” in front of book
That means that Marguerite Muller was the Great Grandaughter of “Grandpa”. Kind of confusing, isn’t it? You have to be really sound of mind to do genealogy research. It takes a special kind of person to willingly take that mental beating. Haha!
It gives me a sort of wistful, almost sad feeling, reading this note. Marguerite is most likely gone, and even researching will probably come up nothing, since I don’t know where she lived. Oh well. I think it’s cool that this book gave such joy to at least a few people, including me!
